Matte vs Glossy protective glass for AIO-6 - Which one is for you?
AIO-6 users can choose between two types of protective glass. Both options are high-strength tempered glass, precisely tailored to the AIO-6 display. Each provides excellent scratch protection.
So what sets the two options apart—and which one should you choose?
The difference comes down to finish: one features a matte effect that diffuses reflections, while the other has a traditional glossy finish with an anti-reflective coating.
Both deliver great visibility, but they respond differently to light—especially under direct, bright sunlight.
Here’s a quick overview of the two variants:

Which protective glass should you choose?
The decision between matte and anti-reflective glass depends mainly on installation angle and riding style.
- If your AIO-6 is mounted at a right angle on a crossbar (such as on ADV motorcycles), meaning the screen never faces the sun directly, the matte glass is an excellent choice. It eliminates reflections and ensures comfortable visibility even in bright light.
- If your AIO-6 is positioned more vertically and slightly upward (such as on a naked bike), matte glass may appear less contrasty in direct sunlight. In that case, the anti-reflective option provides sharper, clearer visibility.
- For riders with the AIO-6 mounted close to their face (such as on sport bikes), the anti-reflective glass fully leverages the display’s sharpness.
Ultimately, both options are outstanding — it’s more about preference and riding conditions than absolute pros and cons.
¹ Matte displays, as well as other matte surfaces, naturally exhibit slightly reduced contrast and brightness. This is not specific to CHIGEE’s technology, but a matter of physics and how light interacts with the surface. We share this as part of our commitment to transparency and informing our customers. The effect is minimal—the display remains highly legible and fully functional with the glass applied.
