Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we get most often about CHIGEE displays, installation, compatibility and buying. If you cannot find what you need, contact our Polish support team.

Choosing a CHIGEE device

What is the CHIGEE AIO-6?

The AIO-6 is a 6-inch motorcycle display running wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also works with cameras, tyre pressure sensors, an OBD module, BMW mounting parts and the rest of the CHIGEE system. See the AIO-6 range.

Is the AIO-6 a standalone navigation device?

The AIO-6 shows the navigation app running on your phone through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. You get current maps, traffic and rerouting from whichever app you already use, with no separate maps to buy for the device.

Does the AIO-6 work without a phone?

The AIO-6 boots and runs its own functions without a phone, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto need a compatible smartphone. Cameras, ride data, TPMS and OBD readings do not depend on the phone.

What is the difference between the AIO-6 and the AIO-6 LTE?

The AIO-6 LTE adds cellular connectivity for remote functions. These include bike location, remote camera viewing, vibration alarm, vehicle status and SOS alerts. The standard AIO-6 has no LTE module. See the AIO-6 LTE.

Can a standard AIO-6 be upgraded to LTE later?

No, a standard AIO-6 cannot be converted into an AIO-6 LTE. This is the one choice you cannot reverse. Cameras, mounting type and most accessories can be added or changed at any time.

Why does the AIO-6 box say MAX?

The AIO-6 MAX marking on the packaging refers to the standard AIO-6 without LTE. In the Polish store we use simpler naming: AIO-6 and AIO-6 LTE.

How bright is the AIO-6 screen?

The AIO-6 holds 2000 nits in continuous use and peaks at 2300 nits. The screen stays readable in direct sunlight.

What is the difference between the AIO-6 and the AIO-5 EVO?

The AIO-6 has a larger 6-inch screen and a modular build, while the AIO-5 EVO is a 5-inch system with two cameras included as standard. The AIO-6 offers more room to expand, including the LTE version and the dedicated BMW module. See the AIO-5 EVO.

Can cameras and mounts be added later?

Yes, the AIO-6 can be expanded later with cameras, the Quick-Release kit or the BMW module. You do not have to buy the full configuration up front if you only need the screen and navigation at first.

Why buy an AIO-6 instead of using a phone in a holder?

The AIO-6 lets you keep your phone stowed away, out of the rain, sun, vibration and heat. Alongside navigation it can combine a dashcam, bike data, TPMS and blind spot monitoring in one system.

Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and phones

Which phones work with the AIO-6?

The AIO-6 works with phones that support wireless Apple CarPlay or wireless Android Auto. For the most stable connection we recommend a current operating system and a phone in good working order.

Does the AIO-6 work with an iPhone?

Yes, the AIO-6 works with compatible iPhones over wireless Apple CarPlay. The phone handles the apps and navigation, and their interface appears on the CHIGEE screen.

Does the AIO-6 work with Samsung, Xiaomi and Google Pixel phones?

Yes, the AIO-6 works with Android phones that support wireless Android Auto. The brand matters less than support for wireless Android Auto and up to date software.

Is the connection wireless?

Yes, the phone connects to the AIO-6 wirelessly. After the first pairing the devices usually reconnect on their own when you start the bike.

Do CarPlay and Android Auto need mobile internet?

The connection itself does not need mobile data, but most apps use it for maps, traffic and live information. Apps with previously downloaded offline maps still work without a connection.

Which navigation apps work on the AIO-6?

Any app available in Apple CarPlay or Android Auto works on the AIO-6. That includes Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze, Calimoto and other compatible navigation apps.

Can I use offline maps?

Yes, if your navigation app lets you download maps in advance. The maps live on the phone and the AIO-6 displays the app interface.

Can I control music and calls from the screen?

Yes, music, calls and compatible audio apps are all controlled through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Audio is routed through your phone and the intercom or headset paired with it.

Do Siri and Google Assistant work?

Yes, the voice features built into Apple CarPlay and Android Auto work while using the AIO-6. Performance depends on your phone, intercom and system settings.

Why do some phone apps not appear on the screen?

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto only show apps approved for use while driving. The AIO-6 cannot display an app that Apple or Google does not make available in their car systems.

What determines how smoothly navigation runs?

Map and app performance depends largely on your phone. If the phone is slow, overheating or several years old, replacing it will help more than changing settings on the AIO-6.

Do I need a new AIO-6 if I switch from iPhone to Android?

No, the AIO-6 supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Remove the old pairing and pair the new phone.

What are the requirements for the CHIGEE GO app?

CHIGEE GO requires iOS 13 or newer, or Android 7.0 or newer. These requirements are separate from those for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

AIO-6 LTE and the SIM card

Is a SIM card included with the AIO-6 LTE?

Yes, every AIO-6 LTE ships with an eIoT Club SIM card. It carries a 2 GB data package valid for 180 days from activation in the device.

When do the 180 days start?

The 180 days begin when the SIM is activated in the AIO-6 LTE, not on the day you buy the device. The card does not expire while the display waits to be installed.

What happens after 180 days?

Data packages are topped up inside the CHIGEE GO app under the operator terms in force at the time. Because those purchases are handled by CHIGEE's Chinese division, a Polish VAT invoice cannot be issued for them. See the full SIM card fees guide.

Can I use my own SIM card?

Your own SIM may work, but not every operator and configuration supports all CHIGEE functions. The simplest setup is the card supplied with the device.

Does the AIO-6 LTE provide internet for Apple CarPlay?

The LTE module powers the remote functions of the AIO-6 and does not replace your phone's data connection. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto still rely on a compatible smartphone and its internet access.

Can I check where my bike is?

Yes, the AIO-6 LTE can report the bike's location to the CHIGEE GO app. Availability depends on power, cellular coverage and GPS signal.

Can I view the cameras remotely?

Yes, an AIO-6 LTE connected to cameras can stream a live view into the CHIGEE GO app. This needs active data, adequate power and installed cameras.

How does the SOS alert work?

After detecting an incident the AIO-6 LTE can send a message with your location to the emergency contacts you set up. You get a window to cancel the alert before it goes out. Cellular coverage and GPS are required.

Does the AIO-6 LTE call emergency services automatically?

No, the SOS function does not replace calling emergency services yourself. The system sends a message with your location to contacts you have set in advance.

Do the remote functions work with the bike switched off?

Remote functions can stay active after you switch off, provided the device has permanent power and the battery voltage is high enough. Below the threshold you set, the system limits itself to protect the battery.

How do I set the battery protection threshold?

In the CHIGEE GO app you can choose 11.8 V, 12.5 V or 13 V. The setting sits at the bottom of the device home screen in the app. A higher threshold protects the battery more but shuts down parking functions sooner.

Installation, power and mounting

Can I install the AIO-6 myself?

Many riders install the AIO-6 themselves using the manual. The job does require mounting the device securely and connecting power and the ACC wire correctly.

Do I need to know motorcycle electrics?

Basic experience with motorcycle wiring helps. If you cannot safely identify an ACC power source or are unsure about the connections, have a motorcycle workshop do the installation.

How is the AIO-6 powered?

The AIO-6 is powered from the bike through wires connected to the battery and to an ACC signal. Red goes to battery positive, black to negative, and yellow to a point that becomes live when the ignition is on.

What is the yellow ACC wire for?

The ACC wire tells the AIO-6 when the bike has been started or switched off. The display then powers up with the ignition and drops into the right low-power mode afterwards.

Can the AIO-6 drain the battery?

A correctly wired AIO-6 manages its own power draw and protects the battery from deep discharge. A standard AIO-6 without cameras is cut off when the bike is switched off, while a camera setup manages its own low-power parking mode.

Can I power the AIO-6 over USB-C while riding?

We do not recommend powering the AIO-6 through the USB-C service port while riding. The port sits under a seal, and leaving it open removes the water protection at that point. USB is for activation, updates and bench testing. See the USB power guide.

Why does a USB-C to USB-C cable not start the AIO-6?

The service port expects a USB-A to USB-C cable and a 5 V / 2 A charger. A standard USB-C to USB-C cable may not start the device even on a powerful charger.

What is the difference between the standard mount and Quick-Release?

The standard mount leaves the screen bolted to the bike, while Quick-Release lets you take it off in seconds. Quick-Release makes sense if you often leave the bike in public places. See the Quick-Release kit.

Can I move one AIO-6 between two motorcycles?

Yes, but each bike needs its own Quick-Release base. The kit covers one bike, and a second base is bought separately. See the base for a second bike.

How do I know the AIO-6 is properly locked into the Quick-Release base?

You should hear a clear click as the device seats into the base. Before every ride, check by hand that the screen is fully locked with no play.

How do I protect the AIO-6 from theft?

The surest approach is taking the screen with you using Quick-Release. The standard mount makes quick removal harder, and an anti theft lock is available for Quick-Release, but no mount left unattended is completely safe. See the anti theft kit.

Can the AIO-6 be used in the rain?

Yes, the AIO-6 is built for year-round use on a motorcycle. All connectors, seals and cables do need to be properly closed and fitted.

Can I wash the bike with the AIO-6 fitted?

The device can stay on the bike during normal washing as long as every seal is closed. Do not aim a pressure washer directly at the seals, the service port or the cable connectors.

Is the AIO-6 suitable for a bike with strong vibration?

Yes, the mount is designed for motorcycle use and is damped. On bikes with unusually strong vibration, check the bolts, mounts and cable routing regularly.

The AIO-6 on BMW motorcycles

Is the AIO-6 compatible with my BMW?

Compatibility depends on the model, year, factory cradle type and equipment. Check the compatibility table on the AIO-6 with BMW module page before ordering.

Do I need the factory navigation cradle for the BMW module?

Yes, the BMW module plugs directly into a compatible factory BMW Nav Prep cradle. Without that cradle you need a different AIO-6 mount.

How does Wonder Wheel control work?

On a compatible bike, Wonder Wheel commands reach the AIO-6 through the module plugged into the factory BMW cradle. How much you can control depends on the model and its equipment.

What if my BMW has a wide 10.25-inch TFT screen?

Bikes with the 10.25-inch TFT have no navigation recess, so they need the dedicated adapter bracket instead of the BMW module. This covers the K1600 and RT models from 2022 onwards. See the TFT adapter bracket.

What about an R1200RT or R1250RT with the enclosed cradle?

The recess on these models is sized for 5-inch devices, so a 6-inch AIO-6 needs the RT extension bracket alongside the BMW module. See the RT extension bracket.

What about an older K1600 with analogue dials?

The AIO-6 is too large for the factory recess on the K1600 built up to 2021. Choose the AIO-5 Play for BMW, or an AIO-5 EVO on the nav recess adapter.

Which BMW data can the AIO-6 display?

The range of data depends on the model, year and equipment. The AIO-6 can receive selected ride data, vehicle information and factory sensor readings where the bike makes them available through the cradle.

Can the AIO-6 show factory BMW tyre pressure?

Yes, on compatible bikes the AIO-6 can display readings from the factory BMW tyre pressure system. Check the compatibility table for your specific model.

Can the BMW module be combined with cameras?

Yes, the BMW module works together with the front and rear camera kit. The cameras need an additional harness run into the bike's wiring.

Does an AIO-6 LTE with the BMW module need extra power wiring?

An additional battery connection is recommended if LTE, alarm and location are to work after the ignition is off. The BMW module itself cuts power when the ignition goes off.

What if my BMW has no factory navigation cradle?

The AIO-6 still fits using the standard mount or the Quick-Release kit. Which one suits depends on the cockpit layout and available mounting points.

Cameras, recordings and the microSD card

Can cameras be added to the AIO-6 later?

Yes, the front and rear camera kit can be added to a compatible AIO-6 after purchase. See the dual camera kit.

What quality do the AIO-6 cameras record?

The AIO-6 cameras record 1080p at up to 60 frames per second. The kit includes a separate front and rear camera.

Which microSD card should I use with the AIO-6?

Choose a branded microSD card rated U3 and V30, up to 256 GB. Cards built for continuous recording are best. See the microSD card guide.

What is the maximum card size?

The AIO-6 supports microSD cards up to 256 GB. Cards of 512 GB and larger are not supported and may fail to format.

Do I need a card if I have no cameras?

Yes, a card is still needed because firmware updates run from it. Without cameras an 8 or 16 GB card is enough and the speed class matters less.

Are recordings saved in a loop?

Yes, once the card is full the AIO-6 overwrites the oldest ordinary clips. You do not have to clear space manually before each ride.

Can I protect an important clip?

Yes, a clip can be locked manually so the loop does not overwrite it. The device can also protect footage automatically after detecting a strong impact.

Does the AIO-6 record while parked?

An AIO-6 with cameras can use a low-power parking mode. Availability and run time depend on the wiring and the battery voltage.

How do I view or download recordings?

Recordings can be viewed on the device screen and downloaded through the CHIGEE GO app. The card can also be removed and read on a computer with a card reader.

Can the rear camera replace mirrors?

The rear camera view helps you watch the space behind the bike but does not replace mirrors. Always check your surroundings before changing lane or manoeuvring.

How does camera blind spot monitoring work?

The system analyses the image from a correctly aimed rear camera and warns about vehicles in the monitored area. Accuracy depends on mounting, lens cleanliness, weather and calibration.

Does blind spot monitoring replace watching the road?

No, blind spot monitoring is an assistance system only. It does not replace mirrors, a shoulder check or caution while manoeuvring.

The SR-1 radar

What is the CHIGEE SR-1?

The SR-1 is a 77 GHz millimetre-wave radar with a range of up to 70 metres that detects vehicles approaching from behind. Alerts are based on closing speed rather than distance alone, so the faster a vehicle closes in, the earlier you are warned. See the SR-1.

What is in the SR-1 kit?

The set includes the radar unit and two indicator lights. Blind spot mirrors with the indicator built into the housing are available separately for a cleaner cockpit.

Does the SR-1 need a CHIGEE display?

No, the SR-1 works on its own and can also be paired with an AIO-5 or AIO-6 display. It fits almost any motorcycle without permanent modifications.

How does radar differ from camera blind spot monitoring?

Radar detects moving objects using radio waves, while the camera system analyses the rear camera image. The two can complement each other but work on different principles.

Does radar replace the camera kit?

No, radar warns about vehicles but records nothing. If you want footage from the front and rear of the bike you still need the camera kit.

Does radar replace mirrors?

No, radar is an assistance system and does not replace mirrors or watching your surroundings. Every manoeuvre still needs your own check that it is safe.

AIO-5 EVO

Who is the AIO-5 EVO for?

The AIO-5 EVO suits a rider who wants a compact CarPlay and Android Auto screen with two cameras in one package. It has a 5-inch screen and is fitted permanently along with the camera wiring.

Are cameras included with the AIO-5 EVO?

Yes, the AIO-5 EVO is sold as a system with a front and rear camera. The cameras drive the dashcam and blind spot monitoring functions.

What quality does the AIO-5 EVO record?

The AIO-5 EVO records up to 1080p at 30 frames per second. It can save separate files from both cameras or a combined picture-in-picture recording.

Does the AIO-5 EVO have LTE?

No, the AIO-5 EVO has no LTE module and none of the remote functions of the AIO-6 LTE. For CarPlay, Android Auto and online data it uses your smartphone.

Can the AIO-5 EVO be taken off the bike quickly?

The AIO-5 EVO is designed for permanent installation with the camera and power wiring. If you want to remove the screen regularly, an AIO-6 with Quick-Release is the better choice.

XR-1 and XR-2

What is the XR-1?

The XR-1 is a discreet dashcam with two 1080p 60FPS cameras and a 136 degree angle, designed to be hidden on the bike. It offers shock detection with automatic file locking, 24 hour parking surveillance and an IP69K rating. See the XR-1.

Does the XR-1 have a screen?

No, the XR-1 is built for concealed installation and has no display of its own. A GPS remote adds location data to recordings, an LED recording indicator and buttons to lock a file or mark a section of the ride.

What is the XR-2?

The XR-2 combines Apple CarPlay and Android Auto at 60FPS with two cameras on a bright 4.3-inch screen. It uses the same processor as the flagship AIO-5 series. See the XR-2.

What is the difference between the XR-2 and the AIO-5 EVO?

The XR-2 has a smaller 4.3-inch screen and a narrower accessory range. Unlike the AIO-5 Play it does not support the CAN and LIN control modules, so Wonder Wheel control on BMW is not available.

Intercoms, TPMS, OBD and accessories

Does CHIGEE work with Sena and Cardo intercoms?

Yes, audio from Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plays through a compatible intercom paired with your phone. That includes Sena, Cardo and other brands that pair over Bluetooth.

Should the intercom pair with the phone or the display?

Pair the intercom directly with the phone, and the phone with the AIO-6. The phone stays the source of music, calls and navigation prompts.

What is the difference between external and internal TPMS sensors?

External sensors screw onto the valves and move easily between bikes, while internal sensors are fitted inside the wheel. Internal sensors are better protected but require the tyre to be removed. External sensors and internal sensors.

Does CHIGEE warn about incorrect tyre pressure?

Yes, once compatible TPMS sensors are paired the display shows pressure and temperature and can alert you past set thresholds. TPMS supports but does not replace regular tyre checks.

Can I store sensors from several motorcycles?

Compatible firmware versions support Multi-Bike TPMS. Sensor sets for more than one bike can be stored without pairing again each time.

What does the OBD module do?

A compatible OBD module passes available engine data to the display. Which readings appear depends on the make, model, year and communication protocol. See the OBD module.

Can the AIO-6 control a GoPro, Insta360 or DJI camera?

The AIO-6 can work with selected action cameras and control some of their functions. The exact scope depends on the camera model and current CHIGEE firmware.

Is there a handlebar remote for the AIO-6?

Yes, the CGRC Multi wireless controller lets you work the display without reaching for the screen. It mounts by the grip and is designed to be used with gloves on. See the controller.

Updates and troubleshooting

Does the AIO-6 connect to the phone automatically?

After a correct first pairing the AIO-6 usually reconnects on its own when you start the bike. The phone needs Bluetooth and Wi-Fi switched on and permission for CarPlay or Android Auto.

Apple CarPlay will not connect. What should I do?

Remove the existing CHIGEE entry from Bluetooth and CarPlay settings on the phone, restart both devices and pair again from scratch. Check that Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Siri are enabled. See the CarPlay troubleshooting guide.

Why does Android Auto disconnect while riding?

The usual causes are battery saving settings, automatic network switching and background app restrictions. Turn off aggressive battery saving for Android Auto and Google services, and check for phone updates. See the full Android Auto guide.

Why does my phone get hot while using CarPlay?

Navigation, GPS, data and the wireless connection all load the phone heavily. Move the phone out of a sunlit holder, keep it somewhere cool and close apps you do not need.

Does using the AIO-6 drain my phone quickly?

Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto use more power than leaving the phone idle. On long rides it is worth charging the phone, especially when GPS, data and music run at once.

How do I update the AIO-6 firmware?

Open the device settings, go to the update section and connect the AIO-6 to a stable Wi-Fi network or hotspot. Do not cut power during download and installation. See the AIO-6 firmware archive.

What if an update was interrupted?

Do not repeatedly disconnect and reconnect the device if it will not start correctly after an interrupted update. Contact our support, as a recovery file may be needed.

What does the low voltage message mean?

It means the supply voltage is too low for the selected function or parking mode. Check the battery, the wiring connections and the protection threshold set in CHIGEE GO.

Why does the AIO-6 not start when I turn the key?

The cause is usually the ACC wire, a fuse, the battery connection or the power plug. Check that voltage appears on the ACC wire with the ignition on and disappears when it is off.

Does the screen work with motorcycle gloves?

The screen responds to most touchscreen-compatible gloves. Results depend on the material, moisture and thickness. On BMW you can use the Wonder Wheel, and on other bikes a compatible remote.

How do I lock the touchscreen in the rain?

Use the screen lock button so raindrops do not register as touches. The unlock method is shown on screen.

Is it normal for the housing to get warm?

Moderate warmth during use is normal, especially at high brightness, while recording and in direct sun. If the device shuts down, shows an error or feels unnaturally hot, contact support.

How do I factory reset the device?

The reset option is in the system settings. It clears saved settings and pairings, so you may need to pair the phone and accessories again.
